Day 2 --- Designboom Mart Valencia 2010

Oh i'm too tired to take the laptop out from the locker to upload pics..
Today's pretty cool actually, they organized a coctail for a Press
Conference and met several good contacts.

I'm thinkin to make something easy tomorrow as an interactive way to
sell something.. It could be interesting.

Day 1 --- Designboom Mart Valencia 2010

Oh wow, the day is finally came!

I woke up quite early this morning, at 6:15 I checked on my Blackberry and I saw several notifications on Twitter, Yahoo Messenger and Blackberry Messenger given me some words of cheering and supports for today.
Also it made my day to see our pictures appear in the the Designboom.
Never thought that it could ever happened.

We had our technical meeting at 12,
Finally we got a chance to put name on faces.. Well I've seen pictures but never by person.
The first participant that I met was Teng, Canadian who used to live in Madrid and also went to the same Uni like I did last year. We talked, most likely about our school also about our stuffs that we're going to sell..A little while, there came Adriana, from Colombia along she explained on stainless jewelries that she's about to sell.

And this is Miss Anita...
She explained how we should hang and stick our poster, some terms and conditions..
What to do and what not to do.
During that time we got a chance to greet one and another, get to know which our table is.

Don't ask me how nervous I was.

And the table is SET!
Was put them, rearrange it twice and I finally feel good to see how it looked.

All that nervous feeling was hangin until we got our first buyer.
Yaaay!!! A lady came and tried on the Fake Cera Ring and suddenly grabbed it and pay.
What a relief! I walked all over and asked other participants how they were doing, some of them got none, some got one but none's got very good result on day 1.

We're keep saying that tomorrow would be better.
But, do you know that tomorrow there will be a strike day happening in all over SPAIN??
There wont be no public transportation and many of employees refuse to work due to the crisis reasons.

Anyway, I'm pretty confident on it..

People likes our work,
Met several designers from Milan and Sweden.. And they love the goods, so I think it's a good start thou...

Neighbors, Manuele and Carey that happened to be in my right side.

Oh loook how exciting to seeeeee our faces on the catalogue and posters of Designboom!
So yeah I guess this is what i can share for today..
I'd love to see the city and go to the other Design event that be going on tomorrow.

We'll see how can I manage that without the public transport.

Prayers and supports are still needed!!!!!!!!!!

- 1 to Designboom Mart Valencia 2010

Greetings from Valencia!

The whole day has been quite packed and fun.
It's actually my 1st time visiting Valencia as I'd been trying to visit for several of times but I kept failing on that.

Today is Monday, and I had to worked my part time job on teaching a little today that made me woke up earlier than I wanted to.
The weather in Madrid was quite windy yet sunny for around 18 centigrades, I spent my morning running here and there to make some preparations fixed.

My friend Fia, who's about to help us in Valencia decided to catch a train from Madrid ( Atocha Renfe ), so we met there and began our design week journey.

Did I tell you how heavy my luggage was?
This was the exact bags I had when I came to Spain 2 years ago. (Minus the orange bag, as a replacement for my other laptop bag)

I mentioned it earlier that it is my first visit, so I barely know this city and we were actually kinda lost and stranded. To our surprise that people here are very helpful, they kept telling me where to go, showing us, walk with us blocks and blocks away.
I know I'm exagerratin on this, but this what it seen in any fairy tale.

This is our Hostel bedroom, we're staying in Russafa Youth Hostal, and the place is quite chic.
They hang a piece of Frida Kahlo between our bed... Jose, the owner is super nice and it feels quite homy here actually! And .... it's 15 mins walking to the Mercado de Colon, where the exhibition will take place.

And here it is, I GOT SHIVERED!
The place is beautiful..............
It's an honor to be part of this Designboom event.

I'm not sure which is my table, be meeting the committee tomorrow at 12.

Nope, it's not any of the participants work... It's just one inspiring piece from Lladro.
Loving it.

The battery goes low and it's 1:10...
I need to get to bed right now and prepare myself for the big day tomorrow.
